A visit to the Natural Bridge

About a month ago, we went for a weekend trip to the Natural Bridge in Virginia.

The Natural Bridge is exactly what its name says (see pictures below).

What we found very surprising is that even today it is used as such. On it there is a road and even large trucks can cross it.

Apparently the respect for nature and heritage is more of a good intention than an actual action.

Enjoy the pics:

Very close to the Natural Bridge there are some caves that can be visited with a guided tour.

I haven't been so deep underground (300 feet / 100 m).

What surprised us was that when leaving the Natural Bridge park we asked for directions to get to the caves. We were told to take the car and drive for a quarter of a mile (400 m)...

The evening before, while we were taking a short walk to stretch our legs after a 3h drive, we noticed that a family took their car to go downhill less than 0.1 miles (about 150 meters).

Apparently (some) Americans have a problem with walking, which partly explains the weight and size of some people.
